Overview

Asian noses often exhibit certain characteristics such as a low nasal dorsum, minimal tip projection, and vague contours. Other common features include an acute nasolabial angle, wide nostrils, and laterally flared alar bases. Furthermore, many Asian patients have facial skeleton structures featuring premaxillary retrusion and an underdeveloped nasal spine. In these cases, simple tip grafting or dorsal augmentation alone may not be sufficient to achieve aesthetically pleasing results.

By combining perinasal augmentation—often referred to as “noble surgery”—with alar base modification, Dr. Lee aims to address these structural nuances more comprehensively. This approach helps refine nasal shape and proportion while enhancing overall facial harmony, reflecting an evolving trend in Asian rhinoplasty techniques.
