Eye Bag Surgery (Lower Blepharoplasty), Fat Reposition, Canthopexy, SOOF Lift, and Endoscopic Forehead Lift Before & After
This case, performed by Dr. Myung Ju Lee MD PhD involves a patient in his 60s who underwent a combination of Lower Blepharoplasty (fat reposition, skin excision, canthopexy), a SOOF lift, and an Endoscopic Forehead and Brow Lift. The goal was to address heavy under-eye bags, sunken areas under the eyes, forehead wrinkles, and a tendency to rely on forehead muscles to lift the eyelids.
Patient Profile and Concerns
Age/Sex: 60s, Male
Main Concerns: Heavy under-eye bags, visible forehead wrinkles, and overuse of forehead muscles for eyelid function.
Objective: Achieve a smoother, more youthful appearance through fat repositioning, skin tightening, and forehead lifting to reduce wrinkles and minimize muscle strain.
Procedures Performed
01. Lower Blepharoplasty (Fat Reposition, Canthopexy, Skin Excision)
Removal of protruding fat and repositioning it to fill hollow areas.
Excision of excess skin along the lower eyelid crease to tighten loosened skin.
Canthopexy to stabilize the outer corner of the eyelids and help prevent ectropion.
02. SOOF Lift
Elevation of the sub-orbicularis oculi fat (SOOF) in the upper cheek area.
Contributes to a smoother transition between the lower eyelid and cheek, enhancing overall facial contours.
03. Endoscopic Forehead and Brow Lift
Small incisions concealed within the hairline.
Lifting of forehead skin and muscles to reduce the appearance of deep forehead lines.
Release of glabellar (frown line) muscles to elevate the brows and create a less furrowed look.
Recovery and Results
Anesthesia: General anesthesia with IV sedation (TIVA).
Recovery Time: Two weeks for initial healing; four months for more complete results.
Outcome
Reduced under-eye bags and smoother lower eyelid contours.
Diminished forehead wrinkles, with a subtle brow lift creating a refreshed appearance.
